On the Set of Southland

Here’s a great video that give us a look inside Ben’s upcoming new show, “Southland”. The clip include shoots from the set and interviews with Ben, his co-stars and the creator of the show.

“Southland,” will premiere at 10 p.m. ET, Thursday, April 9. It will be taking over “ER” after it ends its 15-year run on April 2.

Southland was also recently picked up by the Canadian, CTV channel, and will begin airing in Canada on Thursdays at 10 p.m. at CTV’s All-Star Thursday Night Line Up.

It will also air Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. ET, beginning April 15 on Bravo!

The script for “Southland” came to McKenzie at a time when he wasn’t looking for another TV series. But he was drawn to it, met with producers and offered to audition for the part of Ben Sherman — which, of course, sounds strikingly like his real name (Ben Schenkkan).

“It was the best script I read all year, features or TV,” McKenzie said. “It really fits me quite well. I’ve seen the pilot, and it’s very, very good. There are so many other cop shows, but this is different from procedural shows. Crimes do occur and people at various levels respond, but it’s more about how what they see affects them on a personal level.” …

Some pictures of Ben at the NBC Universal Pre Super Bowl event at Portofino in Orlando, Florida and at the 3rd Annual Saturday Night Spectacular at T Pepin Hospitality Center in Tampa, Florida were added to the gallery.

Ben’s new show, Southland, will premiere on Thursday, April 9 (10-11 p.m. ET) on NBC.

NBC Universal Pre Super Bowl event – January 31, 2009

According to TVWeek.com and hollywoodreporter, NBC will be airing a “Southland” promo during the Super Bowl. The well-watched and pricey Super Bowl ads will be available immediately after they air on NBC.com, SuperBowl.com and NBC’s joint venture with News Corp., Hulu.com.
